2018 Home Design Trends

The hottest home trends for 2018 are here!

We've put together some of the biggest interior design crazes hitting our homes this year so you can stay on-trend when planning your home's makeover.

Styling

In 2018, earthy styling will continue to make a big push into our homes. Organic materials and handmade elements reflect our desire to reconnect with nature and lead a simpler life. Indoor plants, especially cacti, will also stick around, seamlessly pulling together the earthen look.

Kitchens and bathrooms will move away from the usual clinical, minimialist white look, instead opting towards darker themes for a contemporary and sophisticated look.

Colours

Warm colours will be in abundance in 2018 homes. Earthy tones of terracotta, peach, burgundy, forest green, navy and olive will feature on walls, furniture and decorative objects. The warm colours will help turn a house into a home, creating a more personal feel as opposed to the minimalistic trends we have seen in previous years.

Metallics such as silver and brass will continue to appear in our homes, perfectly complementing the warmer tones.

'Millennial pink' took over the interior design world in 2017 and will stick around for 2018. However, we will see the colour used as accents rather than as a room's main feature.

Materials

Keeping with the earthy trend, organic materials will be highly popular in 2018. Materials such as timber, concrete, granite and stone will be layered through our homes either through flooring, furniture or decor.

The laid-back theme means linen will maintain popularity this year, prominently featured in our bedding and window furnishings. The natural fibres of linen curtains will flawlessly complete the natural, warm styling of your home in 2018.
