Sun tracking

Somfy’s sun tracking solution uses a Somfy developed algorithm to calculate the appropriate position of the shading device, and if it’s an venetian blind the correct angle of the slat. This is based on the position of the sun, location and orientation of the building in question. The building controller sends real-time responses based on sun position, which leads to optimizing the day light in the building without the negative effects of glare and thermal heat gain. This reduces the need for artificial lighting.
